3rd Grade Trip
The third grade recently had the opportunity of exploring the American Museum of Natural History! We got to see the following exhibits: Firstly, at The Akeley Hall, we viewed various depictions of African mammals. Each diorama provided a unique glimpse of the diverse topography of Africa & its wildlife. Next, in alignment with our Passports case study on China, we visited the museum's Hall of Asian Peoples, which showcased some of the finest collections in Chinese ethnology. Last but not least, aligned with the 3rd-grade Amplify Science biology unit, we had the pleasure of visiting the Butterfly Vivarium, which featured over 80 species of butterflies among lush vegetation, in radiant tropical temperatures!
As we weaved between exhibits, we were able to see a glimpse of every habitat, as well as the people & species that it encompasses. As we looked through the windows into the lives of others, we were also afforded the opportunity to see our own reflection & reflect upon our experiences as members of the natural world. Thank you to all the families involved in our trip! It was certainly a day to be remembered!
